Accomplishments

Some 4-C accomplishments for 06-07:

 

  • Over 10,892 people took advantage of training opportunities provided by 4-C.
  • 4-C’s Early Intervention Specialist observed and assessed 109 children in child care homes and centers.
  • 4-C sponsored family child care home providers received one million dollars in federal meal reimbursement for serving 775,000 nutritious meals and snacks. 
  • Thousands of child care messages were delivered to Kentucky policy makers by our e-advocacy Parent Voice members and over 400 advocates from across the state gathered at the 3rd Annual Children’s Day at the Capitol to meet with their legislators on children’s issues.
  • 4-C served 15,773 families with over $ 133,254 paid to child care providers in 15 Kentucky counties and Clark, Floyd, and Harrison counties in Indiana.
  • Child care referrals were received by 5,974 parents.  There was a collaborative agreement with the Courier Journal to make the 4-C child care database available to parents through the Courier Journal web page, "Moms Matter," offering a child care search for parents to find potential providers.
  • The 4-C website was upgraded and 133,254 visits were made to the website to access a variety of 4-C services.
  • Needs assessments and trend/analysis reports were provided to 38 current and/or potential child care providers, community groups, and other organizations.
