Accounting and Payroll Specialist

This job reports to the Director of Finance.

This is a Full-Time position working 35 hours per week.

Job Skills/Requirements

1. Process agency payables and un-related child care center payables.

2. Assure that correct accounting practices are retained within the agency to meet accounting and grant standards.

3. Maintain necessary files and records.

4. Assist with benefit and payroll issues.

5. Process payroll and enter into payroll system weekly.

6. Distribute payroll checks in a timely manner.

7. Assist with year-end audit.

8. Back up for receptionist.

9. Perform and/or direct agency personnel in maintaining proper agency accounting functions.

10. Update subscription, memberships & dues listing as necessary.

11. Assist Director of Finance with other projects as assigned.

  • Must be skilled in the use of Excel spreadsheets and have experience with accounting software and email programs.
  • Must enjoy detail work and maintain an organized work style and workspace.
  • Must be able to process material of a sensitive and confidential nature.
  • Must have the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and regular access to vehicle covered by liability insurance.
  • Must be able to react to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned.
  • Must be flexible.

Additional Information

Associates degree or a minimum of five years experience in an accounting environment.

4-C Employment Opportunity – Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant

4-C is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to ensure the integrity of our accounting practices by performing full function accounting for day care centers. The qualified candidate will have a four year Accounting Degree or Associate Degree with five years’ experience. Experience may be considered in lieu of education.  Must be proficient in computer skills, with experience in the area of electronic spreadsheets and accounting software.

 

The senior accountant must be highly motivated and an analytical thinker, able to work through complex problems in order to reach justifiable conclusions to support the day care center.  Multitasking abilities are a necessary strength of the senior accountant.

 

The Essential duties are, but not limited to:

  • Performs and/or directs agency and center personnel in maintaining proper accounting functions to ensure that correct accounting practices are retained to meet all applicable reporting standards.
  • Assists with the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts for the centers and maintains control procedures, performs analysis of results and reports variances as necessary.
  • Prepares necessary reports, billings, statements, and analyses related to financial transactions of the centers.
  • Prepares monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Provides information as needed to assist in grant reporting or proposals.
  • Analyzes and prepares monthly account reconciliations.

4-C Employment Opportunity – Early Childhood Trainer

Early Childhood Trainer

4-C is looking for an experienced and KY credentialed (level 4 minimum) Early Childhood Trainer to develop and conduct training sessions to support the professional development of child care providers and others interested in early child development and the child care system.

 

The qualified candidate will have a Bachelor of Arts in Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field.  At least 3-5 years of experience in the early childhood field or equivalent experience working with families and children.

 

The Early Childhood Trainer must be able to ensure program quality and the specified requirements are being followed as they develop, design, and create new applications and ideas.

 

The Essential duties are, but not limited to:

  • Plan, develop, coordinate, implement and evaluate training programs and services.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Kentucky’s early childhood system including: licensing and certification regulations, QRIS system, and Early Childhood Standards.
  • Maintain current knowledge of national early childhood accreditations: NAEYC and CDA requirements.
  • Develop and utilize a variety of training delivery strategies. Use technology to enhance learning.
  • Develop and conduct learning activities in specific content areas or practice specialties.
  • Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time.
