Explore the anti-bias approach to early education.

Start Seeing Diversity helps teachers recognize and reduce bias in young children by illustrating one community’s effort to create a responsive child care program. Understand bias as it emerges among preschool children and explore the six areas of bias—gender, age, sexual orientation, race and ethnicity, economic class, and physical abilities. Examine your own memories and experiences as you view concrete examples of bias coming up in the classroom and take a look at strategies to promote children’s respect for diversity.

Participants will be mailed the DVD along with the assignment within 48 hours of registration. All DVDs are due back within 2 weeks.
