SUMMARY:Pediatric Abusive Head Trauma\, Child Physical Abuse\, and Safe Sleep
DESCRIPTION:Facilitator : Courtney Pearce \nThis training was designed for child care providers and staff on recognition and prevention Pediatric Abusive Head Trauma. Participants will learn the early signs of maltreatment and the various injuries and conditions that may result from vigorous shaking\, slamming or impacting the head of an infant or young child. They will also be provided tools for dealing with a crying infant and ways to share information with parents to prevent abuse from occurring. SUMMARY:Enhancing Parent Engagement in Early Childhood Education
DESCRIPTION:Facilitator : Angie Kinser \nThis training session is for early childhood educators seeking to enhance their skills in engaging and collaborating with parenting adults. The content focuses on engaging families of children aged birth to five and supports Kentucky All-Stars. The training focuses on building effective partnerships between educators and parenting adults to create a supportive and enriching environment for young children’s development.  \nIn this training\, educators will understand the importance of parent engagement and recognize parents’ critical role in a child’s early development. The participants will learn practical strategies and tools to enhance engagement with parenting adults to foster collaborative relationships\, ultimately contributing to a more holistic and supportive early childhood education experience for children. \n**Family engagement kits are available for providers in Jefferson County who complete the course. Child care providers can get one family engagement kit for each preschool (ages 3-5) child in their class.
