DESCRIPTION:What is empathy? How can we support young children in becoming empathic and caring citizens within our community? When does empathy emerge\, and what are the signs? This session will explore how interactions\, positive environments and a sense of belonging foster empathic growth in all children. DESCRIPTION:This six hour professional development workshop provides overviews of child abuse/neglect\, developmentally appropriate practices\, and health & safety practices. It is required of all new child care staff within the first 90 days of hire. This class will be taught in two 2-hour zoom classes with homework in between for a total of 6 hours of content. You must be able to participate in both classes (Monday\, May 24 6:00 – 8:00 PM and Wednesday\, May 26 6:00 – 8:00 PM) and complete the required assignment to receive credit for this class. \nNotice: This is an online class.  Please make sure you include a valid email address when registering and that you have internet and email access at the time of the training.
