SUMMARY:Pediatric Abusive Head Trauma\, Child Physical Abuse\, and Safe Sleep
DESCRIPTION:Facilitator : Courtney Pearce \nThis training was designed for childcare providers and staff on recognition and prevention of Pediatric Abusive Head Trauma. Participants will learn the early signs of maltreatment and the various injuries and conditions that may result from vigorous shaking\, slamming or impacting the head of an infant or young child. They will also be provided tools for dealing with a crying infant and ways to share information with parents to prevent abuse from occurring. \nNotice: This is an online class.  Please make sure you include a valid email address when registering and that you have internet and email access at the time of the training. This training will be conducted via Zoom\, and you will be required to participate via video and audio through a computer\, phone\, or tablet. DESCRIPTION:Facilitator : Courtney Pearce \nPhysical health and well-being are dependent upon children and families having access to nutritious food\, shelter\, and resources. Children need access to places to play and exercise to be healthy. Children must also have support for their mental and emotional health\, which includes helping them to build secure identities\, engage in responsive relationships and feel loved and respected.  Traumatic and stressful childhood experiences can place children at great risk for emotional and mental health challenges that can last a lifetime. It is vital that early educators understand how to support children who are dealing with distressing moments in their lives.
