DESCRIPTION:This six hour professional development workshop provides overviews of child abuse/neglect\, developmentally appropriate practices\, and health & safety practices. It is required of all new child care staff within the first 90 days of hire. This class will be taught in two 2-hour zoom classes with homework in between for a total of 6 hours of content. You must be able to participate in both classes (Monday\, March 1  6:00 – 8:00 PM and Monday\, March 8  6:00 – 8:00 PM) and complete the required assignment to receive credit for this class. \nNotice: This is an online class.  Please make sure you include a valid email address when registering and that you have internet and email access at the time of the training. DESCRIPTION:Creating scheduling that allows for carefree timelessness can be very difficult to achieve within a child care program. Stop watching the clock and learn what to do instead. During our discussion we will explore what is needed in a schedule and what stands in your way of renegotiating your relationship with time! Learn how the overscheduling of children is impacting their well-being and play. The session will provide educators with an opportunity to create a plan for adding more time to their schedule for children to play. We will explore the decline of play\, the impact and what we can do about it as educators!
