SUMMARY:Connecting with Children through Interactions and Relationships Part 1
DESCRIPTION:In this Independent Study\, participants will gain new knowledge and skills in ways to support children’s social and emotional development. Teachers play a huge role getting children prepared for kindergarten\, and developing children’s emotional intelligence is no different. SUMMARY:Supporting Using Complex Math Concepts in the Classroom Part 2
DESCRIPTION:This one hour Independent Study Module will be focus on how to support classroom interaction with math concepts through photos that will be required by the participants to take and upload. Teachers will upload pictures to an online platform called Padlet. Through Padlet teachers can upload images of math concepts the children are using and allow other participants to view in order to gain inspiration and ideas to take back to the classroom. Teachers will also be required to communicate on the Padlet to brainstorm ideas and to encourage more complex math concepts. Join us for a dynamic day of professional development! \nRough-n-Tumble Play Session (live virtual class) \nRough-n-tumble play starts developing in infancy and continues throughout development! Join 4-C for a discussion on the critical role rough-n-tumble play has within our classrooms. Children crave play opportunities to use their bodies with other children. Rough-n-tumble play is a form of play that occurs at all ages and is characterized by engaging in playful physical actions. Learn how to create opportunities for rough-n-tumble play that are  safe and based upon establishing boundaries and setting limits. Let’s look at the behaviors with a different lens!  \nGirls v/s Boys (live virtual class) \nLet’s talk about the real differences of what boys and girls experience. This session will discuss the importance of understanding child development and what is appropriate to expect from boys and girls in the classroom. Boys and girls may have different needs\, but they are still developing children.
