SUMMARY:Incorporating Math Concepts in the Classroom Part 1
DESCRIPTION:Participants will complete a 1 hour Independent Study Module that will include the opportunity for free resources for the classroom to promote math proficiency. Teachers will gain skills on how to recognize the relationship between math and everyday life. This module will show how to incorporate math concepts in all learning centers that are meaningful to the children. Understanding the importance of math and how math can be incorporated into every lesson\, teachers will be able to support children through intentional teaching moments and in when the opportunity presents itself. (Registration for Math Parts 2 and 3 not required to attend. Independent Study Module will be sent via email after registration closes. Participants will have two weeks to complete the module. SUMMARY:Supporting Using Complex Math Concepts in the Classroom Part 2
DESCRIPTION:This one hour Independent Study Module will be focus on how to support classroom interaction with math concepts through photos that will be required by the participants to take and upload. Teachers will upload pictures to an online platform called Padlet. Through Padlet teachers can upload images of math concepts the children are using and allow other participants to view in order to gain inspiration and ideas to take back to the classroom. Teachers will also be required to communicate on the Padlet to brainstorm ideas and to encourage more complex math concepts. This module will also support peer to peer learning to make a greater impact on the experiences that we want children to have. (Registration for Math Parts 1 and 3 not required to attend.
