Their goal was to win new investments in health, education, and social programs and to make homeland a security a reality for children and families – no matter where they live.

Tips For Calling:

Telephone calls are taken by a staff member, NOT the actual legislative member.  Use these basic steps when contacting their office:

  • Identify yourself by name and the town of your residence.
  • Explain that you want to leave a message for the Senator or Representative.  Too much information can confuse the content of your message.  Be brief and to the point.
  • A sample message might go as follows:  “Hello, my name is Jane Advocate and I would like to leave a message for the Senator/Representative please. I live at 123 Good Advocate Street in Louisville Kentucky.  This is my message:  child care keeps Kentucky earning and learning.  Please invest in early childhood education.
  • Thank the person who took the call.

Phone calls can be a critical advocacy tool and only require a minute of your time.  They can make or break an issue when its time for your public official to cast their final vote.  Make contact and make a difference!
