Frequently Asked Questions

The following provides answers to some of the frequently asked questions about our professional development opportunities.

Several of our trainings are underwritten by generous sponsors and are noted on the training calendar.

4-C offers professional memberships that provide a 40% discount on most trainings. The cost is $85 for child care centers and $40 for individuals.

If you are employed by a Type I or Type II child care center you are required to obtain 15 hours of approved child care training annually. Certified family child care home providers are required to obtain 9 hours of approved training annually.

Yes. The deadline for registrations for all of the 4-C workshops is at noon the day before the training.

Free, gated parking is available in our parking lot on 9th Street.

4-C staff will record all training credits in Training Record Information System (TRIS) within 10 days of the training. TRIS is the state-wide system designed to store and maintain individual training records for all early care and education professionals in the state of Kentucky. All training participants will be asked to complete an ECE-TRIS form.

Yes, but we ask that you give at least 24 hour notice so we are able to make the substitution in ECE-TRIS.

No, 4-C does not offer refunds but we will hold that credit to be used at a further date. Cancellations made at least 48 hours in advance will be issued credit for other 4-C training. Please note that no refunds will be issued. All credits must be used by December 31 of the current year. If fewer than 10 participants are registered to attend a workshop, 4-C may choose to reschedule or cancel. Participants will be notified of the cancellation and given the option to attend another class, attend the rescheduled class, or credit will be issued.

Our workshops are designed for early childhood professionals. We are unable to accommodate children or other unregistered participants during our workshops.
