Supporting STARS Series: Incorporating Benchmarks and Standards into Curriculum
December 9, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

This training will enable early care and education professionals to become more knowledgeable in providing the experiences to help children reach their full potential. Kentucky envisions learning as a continuum, beginning at birth and continuing throughout life. One way that Kentucky has done this is by developing a shared set of expectations for young children, drawn from current research, to provide the foundation for competencies critical to ensuring later academic success known as benchmarks and standards. This session will go in depth about how to use benchmarks and standards into the lesson plan. Understanding benchmarks and standards will support ECE professionals when thinking about offering play experiences for children.
This workshop is free thanks to the generous sponsorship by the Jefferson County Community Early Childhood Council through a grant from the Governor’s Office of Early Childhood.
