Well-Balanced Beginnings: Navigating Food and Nutrition in Early Childhood

This engaging and informative training is for early childhood educators, directors, and administrators, it will provide essential knowledge and practical strategies to foster a healthy and well-balanced approach to food and nutrition in the early childhood education setting.
During this session, participants will recognize the critical role of nutrition in the development of young minds and bodies. Learners will discuss the similarities between Kentucky state regulations and the Child and Adult Food Program regulations. Through small group discussions, videos, and hands-on activities participants will gain practical insights, resources, and an understanding of how to create a nutritionally supportive environment and how to plan healthy meals. Participants will learn how to implement a family-style dining approach that contributes to the overall well-being and development of young children in early childhood education.
This workshop is free thanks to the generous sponsorship by the Jefferson County Regional Collaborative through a grant from the Governor’s Office of Early Childhood.
