This eCourse focuses on developmental milestones for children three to five years of age. Educators will learn what developmental milestones are, the importance of knowing them, and, how to support optimum development, as well as identifying red flags or areas of concern in development. Through videos, mini-lecture, and brainstorming educators will learn appropriate practices and strategies that promote development across all four developmental domains: social-emotional, language, physical and cognitive. The educators will learn the importance and value of play in young children’s development, and will further their knowledge of how to support children by understanding developmental milestones and the role positive relationships play in supporting development in all domains.
This course is an interactive e-learning experience, and participants will need access to a computer or tablet that is connected to the internet. You will complete this module at your own pace, working through a variety of activities (videos, articles, short-answer responses, assignments, quizzes, etc.).
