Thinking Big: Extending Emergent Curriculum 
Learn how to set the stage with a flexible environment and schedule, and with engaging materials. Thinking Big: Extending Emergent Curriculum tells the story of one in-depth emergent project that teachers undertook with pre-schoolers at Hilltop Children’s Center. The project focuses on an investigation of the concept of height and changing perspectives. Teachers and children visit the Seattle Water Tower, the Space Needle and an even taller office building. The project provokes interest and engagement as the students represent understandings with various materials and the teachers observe and document the unfolding curriculum. (With Margie Carter)

Participants will be mailed the DVD along with the assignment within 48 hours of registration. All DVDs are due back within 2 weeks.
