Intentional Teaching Through Rough and Tumble Play
September 22 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Facilitator : Darice Hancock
Rough and tumble play and big body movement are important parts of children’s learning and development. In this training, participants will learn how active physical play supports social skills, self-regulation, problem-solving, communication, and body awareness.
Participants will explore how to tell the difference between playful rough and tumble play and behavior that is becoming unsafe. They will also learn simple teaching strategies for setting clear boundaries, supporting safe active play, including big body movement in daily routines, and talking with families about the value of this type of play.
This workshop is free thanks to the generous sponsorship by the Jefferson County Regional Collaborative through a grant from the Governor’s Office of Early Childhood.
