Achieving 21st Century Skills with Preschool Children! Creating Classrooms of Collaboration Using a Project-Based Approach!

September 15, 2020 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

  • This event has passed.

Critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication and emotional literacy are the skills children need to succeed in our classrooms and in the future! Please join us for a discussion on how project-based learning can support children in gaining 21 st century skills. During the session we will explore how open-ended materials and loose parts can foster a culture of creativity and wonder within your classroom. In addition we will explore the value of communication and learning, specifically using documentation as a tool to advance the teacher’s thinking and the
thinking of the children involved in the project. Lastly, we will learn how open-ended and child-centered projects build social-emotional competency.

This workshop is free thanks to the generous sponsorship by the Jefferson County Community Early Childhood Council through a grant from the Governor’s Office of Early Childhood.
