Tuning Into Temperament

Every child is born with his/her own individual way of approaching the world. Temperament shapes children’s behavior and development in significant ways, so understanding the role that temperament plays is essential for encouraging healthy development. In this eCourse, participants will study the different types of temperament along with their characteristics. They will reflect on their own temperament and how it can impact the relationships with children in the classroom. Participants will understand their important role as teachers to create classroom communities that meet all children’s needs and temperament styles.

This course is an interactive e-learning experience, and participants will need access to a computer or tablet that is connected to the internet. You will complete this module at your own pace, working through a variety of activities (videos, articles, short-answer responses, assignments, quizzes, etc.).
