This eCourse introduces participants to the topic of Strengthening Business Practices for Child Care Programs training series addresses basic concepts in center-based child care programs’ fiscal and operational management. The training is grounded in the belief that strong and sustainable child care businesses can support program initiatives to improve children’s outcomes. This training will focus on: developing effective job descriptions and recruiting talented staff, conducting efficient interviews and establishing legally sound hiring processes, creating an orientation for new employees and providing a comprehensive staff handbook, providing ongoing feedback and performance management, and recognizing the critical role that leaders play in the retention of talented staff
