This eCourse is designed to empower early care and education professionals with the knowledge they need to create enriching experiences that help children reach their full potential. Kentucky envisions learning as a lifelong journey, starting at birth. To support this vision, Kentucky has developed a set of expectations for young children, based on the latest research, known as benchmarks and standards. These serve as the foundation for critical competencies essential for future academic success. In this course, we will explore how to effectively incorporate these benchmarks and standards intentionally into lesson planning. By understanding and utilizing these guidelines, ECE professionals will be better equipped to provide meaningful play experiences for children, to better understand developmental domains, and to observe for evidence of skill mastery.

This course is an interactive e-learning experience, and participants will need access to a computer or tablet that is connected to the internet. You will complete this module at your own pace, working through a variety of activities (videos, articles, short-answer responses, assignments, quizzes, etc.).
