Director Essentials: Authentic Family Engagement
October 14 @ 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm
Facilitator: Angie Kinser
Family engagement is most meaningful when families feel valued, heard, respected, and genuinely connected to their child’s learning community. In this training, participants will explore how to build authentic partnerships with families based on trust, collaboration, and respect.
Through reflection, discussion, and real-life scenarios, educators and directors will examine barriers that can impact family engagement and learn strategies for creating welcoming, inclusive environments where every family feels a sense of belonging. Participants will learn how to use strength-based communication, honor diverse family experiences and cultures, and foster relationships that support children’s growth and development.
Participants will explore strategies for showing appreciation, celebrating success, fostering teamwork, and creating an environment where educators feel seen, respected, and appreciated.
This workshop is free thanks to the generous sponsorship by the Jefferson County Regional Collaborative through a grant from the Governor’s Office of Early Childhood.
