The Creative Curriculum® is a comprehensive, research-based curriculum led by the interest of the children that encourages critical thinking skills through investigations and project-based learning. It features exploration and discovery as a way of learning. It is a play-based curriculum that fosters the whole child’s development through small and large group activities, an engaging environment, and positive relationships. It supports social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development. The curriculum provides teachers with details on child development, classroom organization, teaching strategies, and engaging families in the learning process.
In this session, educators will learn and understand the 5 principles of the Creative Curriculum. The session will include learning about the Developmental Framework and Objectives, and the 4-step cycle (observe, respond, reflect, and plan). Participants will better understand how to utilize the Creative Curriculum resources and guides to plan for and facilitate learning experiences.
This workshop is free thanks to the generous sponsorship by the Jefferson Regional Collaborative Council through a grant from the Governor’s Office of Early Childhood.
