Developing Empathy from Birth

November 9, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

  • This event has passed.

What is empathy? How can we support young children in becoming empathic and caring citizens within our community? When does empathy emerge, and what are the signs? This session will explore how interactions, positive environments and a sense of belonging foster empathic growth in all children. After attending this session, you will have techniques for how to talk with very young children about feelings, and how to create environments that nurture relationships and a sense of belonging.

This workshop is free thanks to the generous sponsorship by the Jefferson County Community Early Childhood Council through a grant from the Governor’s Office of Early Childhood.

Notice: This is an online class.  Please make sure you include a valid email address when registering and that you have internet and email access at the time of the training. This training will be conducted via Zoom, and you will be required to participate via video and audio through a computer, phone, or tablet.
