Director Essentials: Recruiting, Selecting, and Orienting Staff

Finding well-trained and experienced staff is a major challenge yet vital to early childhood program quality and healthy child development. An orientation plan is also key because it helps to make expectations clear, covers the essential aspects of the job and center operations as well as orients the new employee to the center’s mission, vision, and values.   During this training session, we will review skills in recruitment, interviewing, screening, selecting, and orienting new teachers. We will discuss manageable, practical, and effective techniques to help directors find the right teachers for their program and how to orient new staff from the start.

This workshop is free thanks to the generous sponsorship by the Jefferson County Regional Collaborative through a grant from the Governor’s Office of Early Childhood.

This training will be conducted via Zoom, and you will be required to participate via video and audio through a computer, phone, or tablet. All classes are on Eastern Standard Time.
