The 7th Annual Heart Centered Teaching Institute is May 18, 2024 at Louisville Slugger Field.

Parking: The parking lot on the east side of the venue is available for free parking for the institute. (map) Street parking and additional lots are available at a cost. 

Credit: 6 hours of ECE-TRIS credit

Grow in your understanding of what it truly means to teach heart-centered and explore how to cultivate a deep understanding of children’s individual needs, emotions, and experiences in order to build authentic relationships through a full day of hands-on professional development with keynote speaker, Richard Cohen.

What is “Heart Centered Teaching”? Together, we’ll powerfully explore: What does it look like? Why is it critically important for young children (and for us), especially these days? How does it relate to brains and nervous systems? Is love appropriate in a professional setting (Spoiler alert: yes!)

1:00 PM – 2:00 PM – Heart Centered Teaching: Play
Why is play so important for growing hearts and minds? Let’s have some fun together exploring the value of play for young children and how we can best support it.

2:00 PM – 3:45 PM –  Early Childhood Professionals: The Heroes of Our Time
We’ll bring the day to a close, reflecting, together, on our lives, our hearts and the impact we each make in the lives of the children, families, and coworkers who surround us.
