Joys of Teaching Community of Practice Session 2: Nurturing child growth and development by understanding play!

Play belongs at the core of all early classrooms! Everyone has creative potential, and each individual, child and adult, has a developmental need to express creativity. Join this community of practice to discuss how you can promote play and creative expressions within your learning environments. During this session, teachers will explore how play promotes development and is a natural way to form relationships with others. By observing children in play, educators can learn more about children, their interests and current developmental needs. This session will offer insights into observing children’s eagerness to learn. By the end of the session, participants will know that development occurs in an orderly sequence, involves the individual rates of the person developing and is influenced by the environment.

The Joys of Teaching Community of Practice will meet monthly on the fourth Thursday from 4:30-6:30 pm EST through June 2022. The cost is free. Each COP is approved for 2 hours of ECE-TRIS credit.
