Exciting News for Child Care Providers – CCAP Child Care Employee Income Exclusion

The Division of Child Care made an exciting announcement today! Read the full announcement below.

“Coming Soon! – CCAP Child Care Employee Income Exclusion

The Division of Child Care filed amendments to the CCAP regulation 922 KAR 2:160 in July which increased income guidelines, increased special add-on rates for programs, and increased the transitional child care period from 3 months to 6 months.

This amendment also included a new provision for those folks who are applying for CCAP and who work in a licensed or certified child care program. Under this provision, families applying for CCAP that meet all technical eligibility requirements and have verified employment in a regulated licensed or certified child care program will be eligible to have ALL household income excluded for the CCAP application process.

The CCAP application process will remain the same. However, all household income for those families working in a licensed or certified child care program will be excluded, thus making CCAP eligibility available to those employed in child care who may have been previously denied due to income barriers.

We know you have or will have lots of questions regarding this new provision. Please be assured that more information will be shared as we approach October 24, 2022 when this provision becomes effective. Please continue to monitor the DCC Listserv for additional information.

Thanks for all you do to support Kentucky’s children and families!”
